Virginia member Dean Ryan is one of 4 Queensland golfers who have won a spot to ‘play 9’ at the Australian Open this week on Saturday 7th December. Winners of the Golf Queensland promotion were determined by the best 9 hole score recorded in a competition round played between 6th May and 10th November this year. Dean qualified for the prize by shooting an amazing 28 stableford points on the Heritage 9 on 20th July.
The ‘play 9’ competition will be played on the Australian Golf Club back 9 on Saturday following completion of the 3rd round of the Open Championship.
A fantastic experience to be had no doubt. Dean will proudly wear his VGC colours at the Australian Golf Club having today visited the pro shop to acquire a Club badged cap and shirt. We look forward to his recount of the event and how he ‘tore up’ the back 9 at the Australian, albeit 28 points might be a little much to ask!
