Hi Members, an update from Our Captain on the 1st Pennant Match Vs. McLeod GC.
What a great result – needing to win the last three matches to snatch a draw was fantastic. Zach(4/2) followed by Bruce Button who won on the last hole – the result then hinging on Ian Sevens playing his final hole. Ian did not know of the state of play but he wondered why there were so many spectators watching his final hole. A great approach shot and putt secured the necessary point!
Congrats to all players for their efforts but particularly Corey Harmer(7/6), Iain Simmons(3/2), Ben Garland(Sq), Dean Birch(Sq), Karl Vorhauser(4/3), Ben Webb(Sq), Jed Brady(5/3), Aiden Craig((1 up), Harry Black(2/1) and Zach, Bruce and Ian.
A special thanks to Mick Pullinger for his assistance in recording the Open team results and all the family members and reserves who acted as caddies and supported the team in general. There is a real team spirit and we have a very good feeling about the season ahead.
On Sunday this week we have our 1st Home game against Jindalee, from 7.00 am. All members are welcome to come out and support the VGC team.
ONCE AGAIN WHAT A TREMENDOUS TEAM EFFORT TO SECURE A DRAW AWAY FROM HOME.
