Dear Members, Happy New year!
I write to advise that recently a review has been conducted into the number of Members playing in the individual Grades in Men’s Saturday Competitions, with the intention where possible, of equalising the numbers of players across the three Grades of A,B, and C Grade competitions.
Since the last review of these Grades, the Handicap System has been altered, and Slope Rating for courses has been introduced which has necessitated the review and resultant changes.
The VGC Board has endorsed the recommendation of the Club’s Match Sub- Committee to make changes to the Grades with an effective date of Saturday 13th January, 2024.
The revised Playing Handicaps assigned to the three Grades will be as follows:
A Grade- 11 and under ( previously 10 and under)
B Grade – 12 to 18 inclusive ( previously 11 to 16)
C Grade – 19 to 36 inclusive ( previously 17 to 36)
Minor changes will also be made to the total handicaps used to measure the Grades for 4 Ball competitions at the same time.
