Dear VGC Members,

Just a reminder that the Men’s Club Championships will be held from Saturday September 2nd and played over four consecutive weekends as a single stroke event.  The time sheet will be released as normal four days prior to the event on Tuesday August 29th at 5:00pm.

The Heritage Curlew Cup will also be played from Saturday 2nd September 2023.  The Curlew Cup is a multi-round stroke event played over four successive Saturdays, with the result determined on net scores, that is gross scores less a player’s handicap as at the beginning of the first round.

The event is played over 36 holes (4 Saturday rounds of 9 holes) with net scores calculated as if it were played as two rounds of 18 holes.  That is, a player’s final net score will be the total gross score for the 4 rounds, less twice the player’s handicap as shown on the scorecard.  (Note: the handicap shown on the scorecard is the player’s handicap for 18 holes on the Heritage course.)  This means that a player’s final net score for the Curlew Cup will not necessarily be equal to the total of the four individual rounds net score.

Please note that the calculation of the results for the competitions on each of the individual Saturdays will remain unchanged from any other Saturday competition throughout the year. “

Regards

Andrew,
