Dear Members, just a couple of things to update.

We have received feedback over recent weeks in relation to raking of bunkers, or more specifically, not raking bunkers. Obviously, rakes have now been returned to bunkers for some weeks, and whilst we understand that we had approximately 12 months without rakes and some may have ‘got out of the habit’ of raking, we request all players playing from a bunker use the rakes provided so the bunker is left as you would wish to see when playing from the bunker.

In addition as always, members are also requested to carry sand and to repair your divots (and others you may see) and repair pitch marks on greens. Complimentary pitch mark repairers can be picked up from the Golf Shop should you need.

Secondly, at time of writing, the Saturday time sheet for this week is almost at capacity, particularly the morning field, with a number of members still on a wait list. As we stressed a couple of weeks ago, any member who is booked in on Saturday to  play and is aware that they will be unable to play and/or becomes aware, is requested to cancel their name from the time sheet prior to midday Friday, or to call the Pro Shop to cancel, post midday on Friday.

It is most unfortunate that last week we had some members failing to show for tee times without notice, and others cancelling 20 minutes or less prior to their tee time, which obviously means another member cannot get a game. We get it that last minute illness or other unexpected circumstances can occur, but being ‘windy’ or just not showing up does not really cut it as a valid reason.

As members will most likely be aware, the Board may provide sanction to a member who does not provide adequate notice of their inability to play in a competition, particularly on Saturdays with full time sheets.

If Members could work with us on this and as far as possible, show courtesy to your fellow members such that we can maximise fields and all who wish to play have the chance to get a game.

Tony
