Dear Members following on from feedback from members over recent weeks, we wish to provide a timely reminder on the required dress standards for members on course and in the Clubhouse. The following excerpt from the VGC Competition and Club rules is provided below for member information. We note that with the influx of new members over the recent period, some newer members may not be aware of these dress requirements of members at VGC hence this reminder.
Dress on the course
- Tailored shorts, dress shorts with a drawstring waist (drawstring to be worn inside shorts).
- Socks of any length. Shirts and blouses with collars.
- Tailored collarless golf shirts, sweaters and turtleneck shirts.
- Golf or dress slacks.
- Tailored golf dresses or skirts.
- Denim in any form, football shorts, jerseys and football socks, boxer shorts, board shorts and fluorescent workwear are not permitted on the Golf Course, Practice facilities or Club rooms.
The Club’s Board of Director seeks the support of all VGC members to dress appropriately and in accordance with the above when playing at VGC and to avoid the potential embarrassment of being asked to change clothing by Pro Shop staff.
