Today saw the first round of the 2026 Men’s Summer Cup played in conjunction with the February Monthly Medal round. The Summer Cup is an Honour Board Event played over 36 holes of Single Stroke, the best 8 gross scores in each grade A, B & C will be seeded to compete in the second round next Saturday 28 February with tee times being between 10:53am – 11:28am off the 1st tee. Just a reminder that members outside of the seeded draw are still competing for the Summer Cup and are still in the running to win this event.
After the first round Steve Sinclair leads the way in A Grade with a score of 69, five shots clear of Doug Hawkes, Caled Purdey and Mark Hurwood all with scores of 74.
B Grade sees John Dean slightly ahead with a first round of 80 but just one stroke back is Andrew Pook and Tanner Palmer on 81.
John Peachey with a score of 85 has a two shot lead from Henry Akes on 87 and Mark Chaplin just one more back on 88, will be a bit to play out here still.

The Summer Cup 36 hole gross results are also qualifying rounds for the 2026 Men’s Club Match Play Championship. The top 8 gross scores in each grade will qualify through to the match play phase of the event over the following three weekends with the first round starting on Saturday 7 March . Those members wishing to qualify for the Match Play will need to circle a YES on the score cards next Saturday 28 February and the draw for the Match Play will be available at the close the event.
