The 2025 Men’s Club Championships has hit the half way mark after todays second round being completed under fine conditions and the event looks to serve up some twists and turns in the next couple of weeks.  Next Saturday 20 September will see the third round get under way with the best top 8 gross scores in each grade being seeded to play in the afternoon field.  Seeded Draw can be seen here.

Today’s event was played in conjunction with the Tony Barton Memorial Day,  we had a great turnout  with a field of 242 players participating in the event.  Bill Browne has won todays competition with a solid round of 64 nett a fantastic effort considering he had a first round score of 66 nett well done Bill.   A Grade winner was Hamish McKnight with 69 ocb, B Grade went to Greg Mackie with a score of 67 nett and B Grade went to Ben Waisavu on 67 nett, some great scores.    A full daily result sheet can be seen here

A Grade Gross : Craig James has reached the front in a jam packed leader board with rounds of 72-73 total 145 leads by one from Kalan Spanner74-72 total 146.  Close behind and just two shots of the pace is Hamish McKnight 75-72 total 147, Jordan Daley 72-75 total 147 and 11 time champion Steve Sinclair 71-76 total 147 this one the top 5 you want to watch in this space over the next two weeks.   The full scores can be seen here.

B Grade Gross : Subhash Chand once again leads B Grade with two solid rounds 81-82 total 163 is well on top of Joshua McClelland 84-82 total 166 and seven shots clear of Todd Allen 83-87 total 170 still in the hunt.   The full scores can be seen here.

C Grade Gross :  Bill Browne can he be stopped from here after two great rounds he leads with scores of 88 -85 total 173, eight shots clear of Chris Hunter 93-88 total 181.  The full scores can be seen here.

Seniors Gross :  Steve Sinclair leads this group with rounds of 71-76 total 147 five shots clear of Greg Tagg 79-73 total 152.  The full scores can be seen here.

Juniors Gross :  Kalan Spanner in is control after two rounds with scores of 74-72 total 146 just one shot clear of the 2024 Junior champion Hamish McKnight 75-72 total 147, you can tell there is more to play out here.   The full scores can be seen here.

Graded Nett :  A Grade, Kalan Spanner leads with scores of 70-68 total 138, just one shot clear of Hamish McKnight 71-68 total 139.    B Grade, The ever-present Subhash Chand leads with scores of 68-69 total 137, four shots clear of David Holtham 72-69 total 141 and Chris Butterworth 69-72 total 141.    C Grade, No surprises here with Bill Browne heading this leader board with scores of  66-64 total 130 a clear leader form Chris Hunter 74-69 143.   The full scores can be seen here.

Curlew Cup :  Henry Akes is well on top with a nett score of 65 after 18 holes he leads by four shots to Sahibjeet Bains and Rhett Harmer both on 69 nett.   The full result list to come                       

Heritage Cup :    Paul Graham and Henry Akes both share the in the Heritage Cup with a total of 13 pts, close behind is Tony Trembath on 12 and Peter McDonald with 11.  The full result list to come.
