Dear Members, following on from our earlier course updates, we can now advise the following is respect of playing conditions and golf cart usage on course tomorrow, Saturday 10th April.

As advised yesterday, competition play on the Main Course will proceed as scheduled. Members are advised that whilst our course staff and volunteers have been able to commence mowing yesterday, (and will continue tomorrow) some areas remain too wet to mow and again we ask for your understanding.

Unfortunately we advise that the Heritage Course is closed tomorrow for all play, Heritage members are welcome to join the main course competitions over the weekend, please call Pro Shop to book a tee time. A further decision will be made tomorrow in relation to Sunday play on the Heritage Course.

In respect of Golf carts, we advise that golf carts will permitted on course tomorrow but strictly in rough areas only and on cart paths where provided. This decision has been taken primarily to enable as many members as possible to play in tomorrow’s event.  We specifically ask members not to drive golf carts on to or across green access areas the majority of which are still soft and to avoid obvious wet patches in the rough (i.e. stay to the RHS when traversing the gully area on 13).

Members are asked to please avoid driving golf carts on fairways, and to leave golf carts in the rough and walk to their ball on the fairway (with a sand bucket), and as far as possible, use the rough on the side of each fairway which provides best access to the next tee (e.g. LHS of 1st fairway to better access 2nd tee) without the need to cross the fairway.

We apologise for being so prescriptive on cart usage requirements for this weekend but we are trying to find the right balance between enabling those members who use carts to play and in protecting the golf course which this afternoon is still quite wet.

Tony.
