Virginia Golf Club hosted the 14th edition of the Wayne Grady Cup today Sunday October 5. The 2025 edition was a huge success with 88 players from 31 different Clubs represented, a great effort from all players involved.
After the first round Taylor Bar +2.8 Sanctuary Cove and Sam Adams +3.9 Coolangatta both shot 1 under par 70 to lead by one from Steve Sinclair and Hennessy De Guzman both with even par rounds of 71. In the end it was George Giblett with a two under par 69 second round 73-69 total 142 that would see him take the top honours is the 2025 Wayne Grady Cup. In second position Sam Adams finished 70-73 total 143 a great effort.
The best Junior after round 1 was Hennessey De Guzman off +0.7 with an even par round of 71, three shots clear of Oliver Duffy on 74. It was Yutaro Matsushita in the end that won the best 36 hole Junior gross with final scores of 75-74 total 149 ocb from Oliver Duffy 74-75 total 149. The best 36 Hole Nett score for a Junior went to a Virginian local Harry Malcolm with scores of 70-72 total 142, well done Harry.
Alicia Lundi from Sanctuary Cove was in front after the women’s 1st round with a solid even par round of 73, two shots clear of Jazarah Kamu on 75. After 36 holes it was Jazarah Kamu with rounds of 75-73 total 148 that would take out the Women’s Gross prize a great effort in the end. Alicia Lundi finishing six shots off the lead with 73-81 total 154.
