Dear Members,
We wish to advise that on 2 separate occasions, being Tuesday 21nd December & yesterday 28th December, 2 members at the club on those days, have subsequently been advised that they were close contacts of confirmed COVID 19 cases. One of our members is in hospital with mild to moderate symptoms whilst the other is asymptomatic and awaiting a test result. Both were fully vaccinated. We appreciate both members complying completely with the Public Health Direction to immediately get tested upon receipt of the advice of being a close contact. The member notified yesterday of being a close contact whilst on course left the course immediately upon notification. The member briefly visited the bar area around 11.00 am and Pro Shop at 11.15.
It is inevitable that the Club will experience an increase in such incidents over the next period. The requirement on the club in such circumstances, excepting any specific direction from Queensland Health, is to continue our cleaning regime using approved products and to assess staff exposure to determine if any further action is required in terms of testing and isolation of staff. There is no requirement to close the club or deep clean unless directed to do so.
Members are asked to continue to work with Club Staff to minimise risk of contacting COVID 19 at the club (as far as is practicable) by:
- Use the Queensland Checkin code every time you visit the club;
- Only enter the Club house bar area if you are fully vaccinated, please show staff proof of vaccination each time you visit the clubhouse;
- Wear a mask in all common areas of the club being the breezeway, bathrooms & Golf shop (this is a Club requirement of members), and where you are unable to socially distance;
- Notify the club as soon as you are able if you receive notification of being a close contact with a COVID 19 positive case;
- Follow the Public Health direction to immediately get tested and quarantine as per the Direction relating to requirements for close and casual contacts.
- Do not attend the club if you have COVID like symptoms or are unwell.
