Dear Members, arising from the Qld Premier’s advice this am on the extension of the lock down period for Brisbane & Morton Bay LGA’s, the Club’s Board have this morning further reviewed Tuesday’s decision to close for the lock down period.

We advise that following these Board deliberations, the course will be open to members only from tomorrow Saturday 3rd July Single Stableford competition, but members will play in groups of 2. The pre-existing Saturday time sheet for tomorrow will be cancelled and a revised time sheet will be issued at 1.00 pm today on the members website for member booking. Play will be from the 1st tee only in 5 minute time slots. We will also extend time sheets for an 18 hole competition on the Heritage Course tomorrow as obviously the main course time sheet will be at 50% of previous capacity.

The previous COVID-19 related restrictions on course will be re-introduced, eg. preferred lies in bunkers (no rakes), pins to remain in when putting, no congregation around pro shop, putting green, 1st tee etc. and no requirement to sign scorecards (don’t swap cards). To this end, to avoid congregation, members are asked to arrive at the Club not earlier than 30 minutes prior to their tee time. Other requests include a maximum of 4 people in pro shop at any time, masks strictly required for entry and where you are unable to socially distance. As we are a licensed premises (including on Course), we are prohibited from selling alcohol tomorrow.

Motorised Golf Carts can be used but will be limited to rough areas of the courses only (subject to further weather intervention) with the final decision on cart use tomorrow to be made in the morning as normal. Please call Golf Shop if necessary re cart use on course in the am. Whilst the Health directive is silent on this matter, Golf Australia’s advice is people sharing a golf cart must wear masks whilst sharing the cart (i.e. seated in the cart). Club owned carts for individual use will be discounted to $25 tomorrow.

The Club house will remain closed tomorrow, Saturday 3rd July.

We remain optimistic that the Sunday competition will be able to proceed as planned at this time, subject obviously to further Government decisions, and obviously subject also to weather, neither of which we have any control over.

Greg Seaborn – President (on Behalf of the Board)
