Dear Members, just a couple of things to update.

Driving Range. We have this week received formal advice from the Office of Catholic Education that our lease on the Driving range will cease from Wednesday 31st March. This was expected as the Club’s initial 3 years lease expired on 15th January and we have been on casual rental terms since that time. The  Range has been of significant benefit to the Club over this period and the work of the previous Board is acknowledged in initiating the original arrangement to lease the property. The Club will have up to a week following the 31st to remove those items we have purchased over the period of the lease.

Masters Monday. Hopefully members have seen the flyer in the Club House and on the website for the ‘Masters Monday’ event at VGC to be held on 12th August. It promises to be a fun day. The event will kick off from 6.00 am with coffee and juice whilst watching the last 9 holes of the Augusta version of the Masters, with breakfast (and maybe a glass of something sparkling) from 7.00 am followed by a 9 hole event to determine the VGC Masters (green jacket and all – one size fits all!). Book as normal through the website.

Members Survey. Thank you to those members who have completed the members survey. For those who have not yet got to it, could we please ask for you to find 5-10 minutes to complete and submit the survey. At time of writing we have received approximately 270 responses and obviously wish for all members to participate so the Board has a good understanding of the areas of club operations members would wish to be focused on.

On Course Works. As foreshadowed by Greg in the recent newsletter, we have engaged with a contractor to do some geo-technical soil exploratory work in the area of the 28th hole. At this stage , weather depending, this work will be undertaken next Tuesday 23rd March. There will be no impact on play as a result of this work. Further, work planned to remediate the dam wall on the 13th has been delayed this week because of the weather conditions, we await further advice on new dates for work to be undertaken, but we expect this will done in the next couple of weeks. This work will take up to 3 days to complete and for this duration, due to safety concerns for the contractors, a temporary green will be in place.  We will do all we can to ensure that these works do not flow over a weekend period.

Tony.
