Dear Members, after having to postpone our VGC Opening day on 10th due to the Covid lockdown, we are pleased to advise that this important event on our calendar has been rescheduled to Next Sunday, 24th January.
Unfortunately, we have had to change the time sheet already up for next Sunday to accommodate the shotgun starting arrangements for our Opening day event. Members who had already booked into next Sundays comp unfortunately will be deleted from the time sheet because of the change in time sheet format, those wishing to play in the Opening day will need to re-book their time/tee. The new time sheet for Opening day will be released at 3.00 pm today, Sunday 17th Jan.
The format will be consistent with that previously advised as follows.
This years event celebrations are set to start from 11:30am with registration through the golf shop and a BBQ Sausage Sizzle beside the putting green with light refreshments in the Club House.
The event is a Las Vegas Scramble with a shotgun start at 12:30pm sharp. Players will cast a dice after driving on each hole to select the ball to be played, then play proceeds as ambrose until the hole is completed. Dice results of 1-4 indicates which players ball is to be played by the group as the 2nd shot, dice result 5& 6 allows choice of all drives for the 2nd shot. Each team will have to nominate their ‘lucky dice thrower’ to ensure we do not breach any covid regulations, so teams will need to appoint the lucky person in your group who will be required to throw the dice on each hole.
The entry fee for the event is $30.00pp and this includes the BBQ Sausage Sizzle, post golf Buffet Dinner from 6:00pm and lots of prizes. Players in all VGC Membership categories are invited to play in the competition and take part in the daily festivities. The theme for the event is “Hawaiian” so be sure to get the most colourful outfit you can find and bring it down.
For Members that are unable to play on the day but would like to come on down for the dinner from 6:00pm onward can do so by booking through the Office at any time on Ph: 3267 6333 or email sales@virginiagolf.com.au. Dinner only bookings are $15.00pp.
