Dear Members, following on from the Premier’s announcement this am on the lifting of the greater Brisbane lock down, we are delighted to advise that the Course, Club and Driving range will be open from tomorrow am, Tuesday 12th January.

There will be some remaining restrictions which require observance until 22nd January. Whilst there is limited advice on these restrictions at this time specifically for Golf, we felt it appropriate to provide members the information we have and the conditions under which we will operate until 22nd January in a timely manner. We have all seen this movie before, and it is possible that things may change over the next few days, but our position has been and is to comply with the law in all aspects but to not impute any unnecessary restrictions.

So from tomorrow, the playing of golf can proceed in groups of 4 as per the time sheet. There is no requirement for masks to be worn when playing golf, BUT there is a requirement for masks to be worn when entering the Golf shop. Our staff, whilst serving in the shop, are required to wear a mask.  Social distancing requirements have also changed to1 person per 4 sq meters inside, and 1 person per 2 square meters when outside. Please limit the number of people in the Golf shop to 4 at any one time (plus staff). As before, please limit congregation around the Golf Shop and 1st tee areas etc.

At this time given there is no clarity on this matter, golf carts may be shared, albeit members may choose to wear a mask when sharing a cart.

In the Club House, members are not required to wear a mask when eating and drinking. However, whilst members may approach the bar for service, you must be seated to consume food or drinks. To be clear on this aspect, as per the previous restriction in place during June, food or drinks cannot be consumed when standing.  Service staff will be required to wear a mask when serving. Please ensure physical distancing protocols of not more than 1 person per 4 square meters are observed whilst inside the Club house. Please also ensure that you scan in and out of the club using the QR codes on display, or if unable to do so, provide your contact details to staff before being served.

It is recommended that members wear a mask when using bathrooms and other communal areas. Please use the santiser provided before entry to the Club house and/or Golf shop.

Apologies for a long message but we wanted to include as much information as we currently have. As indicated above, we have all been around this track before, it is probable some other changes may be required, we will advise further as these come to hand.

Tony.
