The VGC Medal of Medalists event played over 2 stroke rounds was completed today in beautiful but warm, breezy conditions on course. After the 1st round last week, a number of players remained in close contention in both the Women’s & Mens events.
The Women’s Medal of Medalist event went down to the wire and ultimately resulted in a tie between Sheryn Portley (net scores of 78 & 75) and Narelle Fraser (77 & 76) on 153, closely followed by Kea Schwarz on 154. The outcome for the Women’s event will now be determined after a playoff between Sheryn and Narelle.
Nick Harley has taken out the Men’s Medal of Medalist event with 2 net rounds of 69 & 68 for 137, winning from Tim Hicks (69 & 74) on 143, with Bob Watson (73 & 71) a further shot back on 144.
We congratulate Nick on winning this important VGC event, and wish Sheryn and Narelle good luck in the Medalist play off to be held on Friday.
