Dear Members,  you might need to grab a coffee or a drink of your persuasion, this update is a little longer than normal!

Thank you to all who have braved the new world of covid related restrictions to use our Club House facility over the week, we know it is all very unusual and we appreciate the continuing support of members during the current stage 2 lifting of restrictions. Whilst very challenging for our staff, we were delighted to be back on deck, and yes the pizza’s are awesome along with the great burgers etc.  At this time we are required to continue the current regulated processes around access to the Club House until 10th July although we sincerely hope this date will be brought forward. We will keep you all posted as this is very trying for us all.

We thought it might be helpful to re-state some of the major compliance issues we will continue to operate within for the next few weeks.

Please do not come to the club if you are unwell or experiencing any symptoms. Under the regulations in place, our staff are required to refuse entry to persons who may be unwell.

We are limited to a maximum of 20 people at any one time in the outdoor and indoor areas. Members are required to be seated to receive service, there remains no ‘at bar’ service. Members are asked to not move around either the outdoor or indoor areas once seated. As you will now be aware, we are required to record details of all members entering the club, where seated & time of entry and exit. This regulated requirement is about contact tracing, in that should someone who has been to the Club and subsequently tests positive to Covid, we are required to be able to provide details of what date, time and seated location of the person, and provide traceability for others who were in the Club or outdoor area at the same times. It also follows that if a member had not been in the club/outdoor area at the same times as the infected person, there would be no need for contact tracing.

We again ask that everyone enter the club from the front of the terrace area for both terrace and clubhouse seating, to leave the terrace on the car park side terrace exit, and the club house via the front door. The bathrooms can be accessed from the club house via the doors adjacent to the gaming area, and from the terrace, via the putting green exit and breezeway. We are required to clean tables and chairs after each sitting (with 3 separate products) so please wait for us to clean before being seated. We get it that this is tricky, and further that people will forget. If we remind people in such cases, please understand that we are simply trying our best to comply with the law as it stands and look after the health and welfare of all members and our staff.

We all understand that the limitations that are imposed upon us all for the next few weeks may result in some frustration as we saw on the weekend. In case anyone was wondering, this is a very difficult issue for our staff to deal with as well, it is some distance from fun in this regard. However, whilst we get all this, I do have to add that the Club will not tolerate any abuse directed to any member of staff doing what is required to meet the regulated requirements and the member will be immediately asked to leave the club, and further, it is completely irrelevant that some other organisations may choose not to apply the regulatory requirements, we are doing absolutely no more than is specifically required of us to operate the club for food and drinks.

Thank you for continuing to work with us as we move through this challenging time for everyone.

Tony.
