Dear Members, as advised in our previous post, we are delighted to re-open the club House for member enjoyment from 9.00 am tomorrow Friday, 12th June. We are though required to operate at least in the short term under quite specific restrictions and we thought it might be helpful to give members a heads up on the protocols we are required to observe and to provide some information to members necessary for us to meet the Covid Safe operating procedures (allowing us to open).

These are set out as follows:

In the short term during stage 2 restrictions, we are limited to 20 people in the club house and 20 people on the terrace at any one time. We are required to strictly enforce these limits, including asking members to wait until they can enter and not breach the 20 person limit. Members attending the Club house will be required to provide a member number for covid tracing purposes and time in/time out will be recorded (members guests will be required to provide name, mobile etc).

Only seated service will be available, and members will be unable to move from area to area. All members entering the Club are asked to enter from the front of the terrace area to be seated (indoors or outdoors), and exit from the car park side of the terrace if seated on the terrace, and via the front door of the Club house if seated in the Club House. Please do not move chairs from table to table as these have been set to comply with social distancing requirements.

Communal bathrooms are accessed via the breezeway for those seated on the terrace (not through the club house), and for those seated in the Club House, via the doors adjacent to the gaming area. Obviously the principle we are required to observe is to keep people separated as far as is practicable.

Members are asked as far as practical to use members cards or electronic payments. Members are asked to limit time in either area to less than 1 hour. It is important to advise members (this is a covid safe specific requirement) not to attend the club at all and club house/terrace area in particular if you are unwell or showing any relevant symptoms.  We are required to ask people to immediately leave the premises if a staff members reasonably believes an individual may be unwell.

We also advise that this weekend we remain unable to serve alcohol to be taken on course whilst we await specific clarification on this matter from the Office of Liquor & Gaming.  Members are reminded that BYO alcohol is prohibited for on course consumption.

Our service levels may be a little challenged over the weekend given there is only table service available (no at bar service), and staff can only serve in 1 of the 2 areas (cannot crossover areas to avoid any risk of cross contamination which is another covid safe regulatory requirement) so we would ask for your continuing patience as we get used to this stuff.

Lastly, like everyone, we are aware of other organisations which may not necessarily taking the restrictions as seriously as we continue to do, the simple explanation is we are required to but also our motivation is to do every thing we can to protect the safety and well being of all members and our staff. We sincerely  hope that we are near the end of this issue. We will keep you updated as we hope further restrictions are lifted.

Tony
