Dear Members,
We regret to advise, that after receiving advice from Golf Australia this afternoon, following on from the Prime Ministers statement last night, we have no option than to close our Golf Course from tonight for an indefinite period. Therefore, whilst we had plans in place to conduct the Blue Marker in groups of 2 and to meet other requirements of social distancing and avoiding congregation, this event has now been cancelled and we hope, rescheduled to another time when the situation in respect of playing golf is clearer. The Driving Range will similarly be closed from tonight.
We are yet to receive any information from the Queensland Department of Health as to what actual restrictions are required (particularly around outdoor ‘congregation’) to determine if golf can proceed within these requirements. In the absence of this information and the ability to review our position, we feel that we have no other reasonable option at this time other than to comply with the Golf Australia advice and to close the course.
Obviously this situation is changing constantly and we can only respond on the basis of the information to hand at this time. We will keep members updated with any other developments as we are advised.
