Please be advised that the Eighty-Ninth Annual General Meeting of the Virginia Golf Club will be held at the Club on Monday, 25th November 2019, commencing at 7.30. pm. All members are invited to attend.

The Club’s Annual Report for the 2018-19 year for the information of members has been completed and can be viewed by clicking HERE. Hard copies of the annual report are available from the Administration office at the Club.

At the Annual General Meeting, members will be asked to consider and vote on two (2) Special Resolutions proposing amendments to the Club’s constitution recommended by the Board. The Special Resolution Notice to be put to members at the meeting can be viewed by clicking HERE. Hard copies of the Special Resolutions are available from the Administration Office at the Club.

Members who are unable to attend the Annual General Meeting on Monday 25th November may appoint a proxy to vote on their behalf. Proxy Forms for voting on both motions arising from the Annual General Meeting and for the two (2) Special Resolutions to be put to the meeting are available from the Administration office at the Club.

In accordance with clause 7.12 of the Club’s Constitution, all Director appointments lapse upon the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting each year. Nominations are therefore invited from eligible Members for the following Director appointments, being the positions of;

President, Vice President, Captain, Vice Captain, Treasurer, Membership Director, Greens Director and two (2) Director positions.

Any two (2) eligible members may nominate another eligible member to serve as a Director on the Board. The nominee and nominating members must be financial members of the Club at the time of the nomination being made. A member may be nominated for more than one (1) Director position. Where there is more than 1 nomination received for any Director position, an election will be held to determine the appointment to the Director position. For the purposes of providing clarity, ‘Points Members’ and ‘Student Members’ of the Club are not eligible to be appointed to the Board of the Club, to nominate a member to serve on the Board or to vote at the Annual General Meeting.

Nomination forms for members wishing to serve the Club as a Director of the Board are available from the Administration Office at the Club. Nominations for appointment as a Director should be returned to Tony Bourke, Secretary Manager by 5.00 pm, Monday, 4th November 2019.
