Thursday Club / Virginia Single Stableford Competition.
As members are aware, there have been ongoing discussions between representatives of The Virginia Thursday Club and VGC since the introduction of the Single Stableford AGU Competition in our shared endeavours to ensure that both Thursday events run seamlessly in tandem and any impact on players in either event is minimised. We are pleased to report that we have agreed a further refinement of arrangements for Thursday golf at VGC which we think will allow both events to run more smoothly.
The refinements we have agreed are as follows:
- The Single Stableford event will be run from 8.00am to 10.00 am off the first tee (timesheet via the website). Thursday Club members who wish to hit off the 1st tee between 8.00 am & 10.00 am are free to do so if there is a vacant spot on the timesheet during this time.
- Thursday Club members who wish to commence their round from the 10th tee will be able to do so as soon as the last of the Single Stableford players have cleared the 10th tee. We envisage this will be from 12.00 -12.15pm but please note that Single Stableford players will have right of way as they move through the 10th tee. We would ask Thursday Club members not to commence their round from the 10th tee prior to this time.
- The Club will restrict access to social golfers as necessary to ensure minimal impact on both the Single Stableford and Thursday Club events.
- These new arrangements will come into effect from Thursday 11th
We are please to advise of these refinements which we hope will make our Thursday events run more smoothly for the benefit of all members.
